As the weeks rolled by, Victoria's desire to marry Daniel became an absolute obsession. Daniel had recently mentioned that he was thinking about proposing to her, but he wanted to make sure his son was entirely comfortable with the idea first. That simple comment filled Victoria with deep resentment. She could not stand the thought that a little three-year-old child and a humble nanny held so much influence over her future wealth and social status. She knew that if she married Daniel without a legal prenup, she would secure a massive share of his multimillion-dollar estate, life insurance, and corporate stock holdings. But to pull off her grand plan, she had to act fast before Daniel changed his mind.
One sunny Tuesday morning, Daniel left the house early to sign an important real estate contract on the other side of the city. He kissed little Leo on the forehead and thanked Elena for taking such good care of his household. Shortly after the heavy front doors closed behind Daniel, Victoria stepped down the grand staircase wearing a brilliant dark green silk gown. Her polished gold jewelry clinked softly with every step she took on the cold white marble steps. She walked directly into the nursery where Elena was carefully dressing baby Leo in a light grey blanket for his morning nap. Victoria folded her arms and looked down at Elena with pure coldness.
Victoria: You seem far too comfortable in this house, Elena.
Elena: I am just doing my daily duties, Victoria. Leo needs his nap now.
Victoria: He is not your child, and this is not your home.
Elena: I know that. I am only here to make sure he is safe and happy.
Victoria: Well, your time in this mansion is coming to an end very soon.
Elena kept her head down and gently lifted baby Leo into her arms, trying hard to avoid an unnecessary argument with the angry woman. She walked out into the high-ceilinged foyer to quiet the little boy down, humming a familiar soft tune as he rested his small head against her shoulder. But Victoria followed close behind, her high heels clicking loudly against the polished white marble floor. Her eyes were sharp, dark, and filled with a sinister determination that made the back of Elena's neck tingle with fear. Elena turned around slowly, holding the baby tightly against her chest as she noticed Victoria's icy stare.
Elena: Is there something else you need me to do today, Victoria?
Victoria: I need you out of my sight and out of this family forever.
Elena: Daniel hired me to care for his son. I will only leave if he asks me to.
Victoria: Daniel will do whatever I tell him to do once he sees what happens today.
Without warning, Victoria stepped forward rapidly and snatched baby Leo directly out of Elena's arms. Elena gasped in shock, reaching her hands out in sheer panic as Victoria held the little child tightly against her green dress. Baby Leo began to cry softly, confused by the sudden rough movement and the harsh tone in Victoria's voice. Elena stepped closer, her hands trembling violently as she begged Victoria to hand the baby back safely. The massive foyer was completely silent except for the soft rustle of Victoria's expensive silk dress and the tiny whimpers coming from the scared child.
Elena: Please, Victoria, give him back to me! You are scaring him!
Victoria: Look at you, trembling like a pathetic fool.
Elena: Put him down safely, please! He is just a baby!
Victoria: Who do you think Daniel will believe when he comes home?
Elena: What are you talking about? Please do not do anything foolish!
Victoria: His wealthy future wife or a cheap, replaceable nanny?
Victoria smiled a cold, evil smile that chilled Elena straight to the bone. She leaned over the hard marble floor, holding the crying baby loosely by his grey blanket. Elena realized with horror what Victoria was planning to do. Victoria intended to drop baby Leo directly onto the white marble floor, claim that Elena had been clumsy, and frame her for severe child endangerment. By doing this, Victoria would get Elena arrested, remove her rival forever, and position herself as the hero who tried to save the day. Elena took a desperate step forward, ready to throw her own body onto the floor to break the little child's fall.
